ZAYN, Nobody is Listening [📷: RCA]Pop standout ZAYN drops the enjoyable and sensual single “Vibez,” which appears on his third studio album, Nobody is Listening

In 2016, 🎙 ZAYN was ‘flying high’ as far as his solo career was 🔥. 🎵 “PILLOWTALK” hit no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while his debut album, 💿 Mind of Mine also peaked atop the Billboard 200.  Unfortunately, post-Mind of Mine, the former 1D standout suffered from a big-time case of the sophomore effect. 💿 Icarus Falls (2018) flopped harder than a pancake, peaking at a tepid no. 61 with no notable hits.  Basically, the talented musician is in solo career rebuild at this point.  Perhaps fans will definitely ‘feel the vibes’ of his 🎵 “Vibez,” appearing on his third studio album, 💿 Nobody is Listening.

“Vibez,” indeed, is a vibe.  The tone is set by a moody intro, which perfectly suits the pop artist. Contributing to the success of the intro, and “Vibez” overall, are producers 🎛 Scribz Riley and 🎛 Rogét Chahayed.  Their work behind the boards goes a long way to establish the vibe, and more specifically, the urban-pop sound.  Running just 2:43, that’s plenty of time for ZAYN to woo us with his smooth, sexy vocals.  His voice continues to be one of the bright spots in pop, period.

“Mind runnin’ wild, we touchin’ slow
Just say the word, I’m ready to go...”

Unsurprisingly a sensual record (with only one verse), he keeps the love and sex tasteful. For those desiring some mo “Fucking and fighting,” well – not on “Vibez.”

Final Thoughts 💭

Ultimately, “Vibez” is an enjoyable – wait for it – VIBE! ZAYN serves up nothing game changing, but the result is a pleasant, well-rounded pop record.  Will it return this hella talented artist to chart glory? Eh, who knows, but it’s definitely a respectable start.
