On the 3rd edition of Sunday Refresh, we’re uplifted by Christian rock artist Zach Williams performing, “Chain Breaker.”
Welcome to Sunday Refresh 🙏, a column that seeks to highlight inspirational songs to uplift the spirit. These tracks that appear on Sunday Refresh may or may not be faith-based or religious; the goal is for them to make you feel better – refreshed. So, for the X edition of Sunday Refresh, we highlight 🎵 “Chain Breaker” as performed by Christian rock artist 🎙 Zach Williams. What’s better than a little J-E-S-U-S? No, not a little J-E-S-U-S, but a great big, awesome, omniscient JESUS! That’s exactly what Williams provides us with on the title track from his 2017 album, 💿 Chain Breaker.
“If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker If you feel lost, He’s a way maker If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior If you got chains, He’s a chain breaker.”
Zach Williams offers encouragement on this rousing, well-put-together CCM joint. He wrote “Chain Breaker” with 🎼✍ Jonathan Smith and 🎼✍ Mia Fieldes. Lyrically, the team does a fine job of leading those discouraged or lost to ‘The Great I Am.’ The first verse is an prime example:
“If you’ve been walking the same old road for miles and miles If you’ve been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies If you’re trying to fill the same old holes inside There’s a better life, there’s a better life.”
Musically, the dynamic, exuberant sounds don’t hurt either – piano, organ, guitar, drums, choral backing vocals. Even if you’re not a believer, or more casual when it comes to spiritual matters, you might dig this Sunday Refresh standout 😜.
