Yung Pinch, Back 2 the Beach [Photo Credit: TWNSHP]Melodic rapper Yung Pinch shines on the chilled-out “Over It,” the promo single (featuring Wiz Khalifa) from his album, BACK 2 THE BEACH.

“Everybody heartbroke ‘cause they life so-so / And they cry so much, you would think they’d get over it / Not so, you know when the bar close / I’m a ride with my bros that I never stay sober with.” Melodic rapper Yung Pinch keeps it real on the incredible memorable chorus from his mellow bop, “Over It.” “Over It” serves as the promo single from his 2020 album, Back 2 the Beach.  Indeed, you’ll feel like you’re on the beach listening to “Over It,” which features Grammy-nominated rapper, Wiz Khalifa.

The biggest takeaway from “Over It,” again, is how chill and mellow the record is.  Yung Pinch delivers a performance that’s filled with sadness.  After shouting himself out (“Beach boy at the beach again”), Pinch reveals his cards, with the pre-chorus (“Nowadays everybody is the same and I swear it’s so lame, yeah,” etc.), followed by the aforementioned chorus, and finally dropping a chilled out first verse.  Here, Pinch is young and reckless AF – driving a foreign “that [he] might just total” and Grabbing his “Bag full of grass.” He follows the verse with an interlude, where basically, haters hate his drip, swag, etc.  At this point, Wiz Khalifa comes into the picture.

“Rollin’ it up, ain’t putting it out
She bringing it up and poking it out
You heard of my gang; you know what I’m ‘bout
You don’t want the fame; you don’t want the clout…”

Basically, Wiz raps about things he’s rapped about throughout his career: sex, money, and most of all, weed.  Yung Pinch gets back into the mix, with an interlude, followed by the chorus, followed by a separate interlude (“Pour me another one / Fill my fuckin’ glass, yeah / Pour me another one / ‘Cause I just skipped class to be here”), and the chorus, yet again.

Final Thoughts

Hmm, maybe we should be more like Yung Pinch and just get “Over It.”  Sure, he’s irresponsible (who the hell “feels so punk” to potentially total a Rolls-Royce), but the vibes he gives off are pretty sick. If nothing else, this summer record is sure to warm up the dead of winter, and Back 2 the Beach could have the same effect.
