Fresh out of new music Friday, Yulanda Sabrina is taking the world by storm with her latest R&B release “Easier.” A name which is fresh on the scene, Yulanda is proving that she is here to stay.

I first received this track from her publicist, and I have been hooked on it ever since. Her vocals are on fire. Think back to the debuts of the greatest singers and you will find close similarities with this release from the London based singer. Also, I listen to tracks from artists who have countless years of experience behind them, and they often fall short of the charisma and quality that “Easier” boasts.

The synth is a big player musically in this release. As a result, it sits firmly in place for the majority of the track, and I relish this. It gives out a soothing and calming vibe. Also, it makes the vocal delivery even more piercing. The mix is relatively lightweight in the sense that there is not a vast amount of instruments making it to the final record. Still, it is an excellent production choice because it enables the stellar vocals the opportunity to shine.

Vocally, it is hard to find fault with Yulanda. She is born for this, and it does not take a musicologist to realise that she has heaps amount of quality. Her vocals for me are refreshingly dynamic, and they take us on a journey from the first breath. She also cleverly delivers her message, and I could not help but feel myself getting closer to the singer with each track play. It is not to say that the singer is going to fast track her way to stardom because her follow up will be even more decisive on long term career success. But, if “Easier” is anything to go by, then the singer is in good standing.

Five out of five – George James.
