Boston, Massachusetts pop singer/songwriter Yavin impresses on his warm, relatable ‘touchy feely’ single, “Handsy.”

“Handsy” was written by Yavin alongside Becca Martin,
Gregory Dillon, and
Zach Benson. As far as timbre, it commences with warm, inviting production work (a pad, specifically). Later, as the record progresses, rhythmic synths amplify the picturesque nature of the backdrop, which is fuel for Carmago’s fire. The sound is sleek and modern, while also recalling the 80s. Besides awesome production work, there are some more fabulous takeaways. The biggest is the voice. Camargo sings like an angel, possessing a radiant, lush voice that commands the backdrop like a champ. Furthermore, the vocal production is on-point. When I characterize Camargo as commanding, it’s relative. He never forces things, yet holds the reins as he sings about the power of touch and that connection he’s found – his “comfort zone.” That brings the last big pro, which is the songwriting, particularly that sweet, catchy, and tuneful chorus.
Final Thoughts
On his twitter headline, Yavin asserts, “You probably bullied me in middle school.” Sad because no one should’ve ever bullied this handsome, talented king, period. “Handsy.,” my first experience hearing Camargo, sold me – consider me a fan. This single is successful thanks to a stellar voice, relatable, memorable songwriting, and warm, modern, picturesque production. Don’t you dare bully this guy or sleep on his musical talents either!
