Why Don't We, "Chills" [Photo Credits: Signature Entertainment, LLC / Atlantic]Boy band Why Don’t We have a case of the “Chills,” and it’s not because of the cold.  Blame it on matters of the heart.

Apparently, Why Don’t We are cold, or at least that’s the scenario the boy band presents on their single, “Chills.”  What exactly is giving them chills? Well, girls – a specific girl for each boy of course.  Running shy of three minutes in duration, “Chills” is an enjoyable, relatable pop single that dabbles in matters of the heart.

Corbyn Besson kicks “Chills” off, referencing things once associates with the cold.  Such things would coat, December nights, and fire.  Perhaps with the exception of the coat, there’s a sensual vibe.  Jack Avery adds to the coldness, before clarifying the real reasons for those chills:

“Shiverin’, I’m shiverin’, I can’t stop
Give me the look, you know the one I want
I’ve been waiting for
It’s so cold, it’s so cold, yeah.”

And if Avery didn’t do enough in regard to the reasons for those chills, leave it to Zach Herron on the chorus:

“I got chills when you walk
Chills when you talk
Chills every time you say my name
It’s the way that it feels when we touch
I can’t get enough
Love got me frozen in place.”

You can argue it’s corny or tongue-in-cheek to an extent, but at the same time, it’s clever and at least charming to some extent.  Daniel Seavey joins the chillness, handling the second verse, with buzz words including warm and igniting, in addition to, physical touch (“Arms wrapped around my neck”).  Jonah Marais can’t be left out either: “We could be royalty, I’ll be your prince, yeah / Give you that loyalty, don’t matter the distance.”

Final Thoughts

So, will “Chills” flip the pop game on its side? No, but it’s certainly enjoyable and has its pros.  I wouldn’t necessarily call it the most memorable/my personal favorite single that Why Don’t We has released, but it’s definitely consistent.
