Tyga, Trap Pu**y © Last Kings MusicAt this point in his career, Tyga could use a shakeup in methodology. “Trap Pussy” is another record that distastefully dabbles in misogyny.

Tyga had a run. That run came with album Careless World: Rise of the Last King.  On that particularly album, he scored hits with “Rack City” and “Faded.”  While his success can’t be denied, the album as a whole can be considered to be a bed of filth.  Tyga aimed low, scored, but ultimately, didn’t deliver a product that was transcendent.

Since Careless World, Tyga has been trying to recreate his success.  The formula has remained the same – lazy, filthy, and ultimately disgusting.  Tyga’s latest single, “Trap Pu**y” is exactly what is expected of the MC – not much.

“Trap Pu**y” features malicious-sounding production, which matches the devilish, savage nature of the lyrics. He spits over a repetitive loop essentially, not far-fetched from hits “Faded” and “Rack City”.  While it is a similar approach, “Trap Pu**y” simply doesn’t compare. Lyrically, “Trap Pu**y” is arrogant, cocky and disgusting. Tyga’s music has become consumed with sex and misogyny.

Objectively and subjectively speaking, there is little to respect about this track. That said, there are few redeeming qualities.  The hard hits within the production break-up the repetitiveness and provide extra oomph. Naturally, the hook is undeniably catchy, despite its salaciousness.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, “Trap Pu**y” yields nothing particularly new or dynamic from Tyga. At this point in his career, he could use a reboot.  “Trap Pu**y” just doesn’t cut it.
