Tyga continues to be quite prolific.  After a period of time where the rapper seemed to ‘fall off,’ his resurgence has been quite amazing.  Even if you’re not a fan of his highly sexualized content, you’ve got to give the man props for making a big-time comeback.  He continues to flex by dropping “Money Mouf” alongside Saweetie and YG.  No, the wheel is not reinvented, and the themes are cliché and predictable, but, hard to deny the man has another banger on his hands.

At three-and-a-half minutes in duration, “Money Mouf” is the perfect length – not too short and not too long.  As usual with modern records, there are numerous writers.  Where production is concerned, there are merely two: OG Parker and SK.  Both ‘stitch up’ a mean, banging backdrop which integrates a Ying Yang Twins sample, “Salt Shaker”. Now that’s inspiration!

The pre-chorus and chorus appear at the top of the record, helmed by Tyga. The premise? Money, as confirmed by the chorus:

“Ayy, bounce that ass, yeah, throw it back (Throw it back)
Spend that cash, you got hella racks (Hella racks)
Run that bag, n***a, no cap (No cap)
Put your money where your motherfuckin’ mouth at (Mouth at)
Ayy, is you ‘bout that?”

Tyga goes on to raps the first verse, continuing to mention racks and of course, sex: “Bitch hoppin’ on my dick like a jumping jack (Woah, woah) / I’ma pay for her ass, I don’t like it flat.”  The most troubling line, however, comes at the end: “And I need a fat ass, it’s a Black thing (Big fat) /Got a Chinese bitch, it’s a ling-ling, hah (Wah)”). Saweetie brings the female perspective on the second verse, referencing money and of course, pleasure (“Ooh, I love sloppy toppy, but my Henny neat / Got the hottest n***a in the A between my sheets,” as well as, “Triple-plat’ pussy, so you know it hit different.”) YG takes the final verse,  sexed-up as always: “Got a natural lil’ thang and she bad as fuck / She gon’ hit the gym, fuck a tummy tuck … / I wanna pay for everything and have sex with you / Your old thang told you no, I’m your yes n***a.”

Final Thoughts

Will you leave smarter after listening to “Money Mouf?” No, but at least you will be entertained – NO CAP! It’s a banger and nothing more.
