Tyga, Girls Have Fun [Photo Credits: Last Kings Music / EMPIRE]Continuing to ride the wave of his resurgence, Tyga enlists G-Eazy and Rich the Kid for the assist on his hella dumb, infectious banger, “Girls Have Fun.”

If it hasn’t already been made clear, Tyga experienced quite the resurgence beginning in 2018.  What does one do after experiencing a resurgence? Why, continue to ride the wave.  On his latest single, “Girls Have Fun,” Tyga does just that.  He doesn’t ride the wave alone, with G-Eazy and Rich the Kid joining him for the ride.  Sweetening the ride? Production courtesy of the one and only DJ Snake.

Transcendence is never a characteristic of Tyga’s music, and honestly, the same can be said of the other artists featured on this particular record.  That said, the chorus, which goes hella dumb, is also hella irresistible, performed by Tyga himself.

“Stick out ya tongue (ayy, ayy, ayy), girls wanna have fun (ayy)

Stick out ya tongue (ayy, ayy), can a n***a have some? (ayy)

Stick out ya tongue, girls wanna have fun (yeah)

It’s ya birthday, can a n***a get somethin’? (ayy).”

Tyga goes on to rap the first verse, focused on his favorite topic, sex – shocker.  His flow is a selling point by all means, even if the rhymes aren’t game changing.  On the second verse, Rich the Kid takes the reins, remaining something of an acquired taste.  Give him credit for his distinct tone, something that makes him stand out, even if he’s perhaps not for everybody.  G-Eazy does his usual thing on the third verse, referencing his first name (“Gerald”) for the millionth time, not to mention his Bay roots.  Backed by a strong beat and overall solid, clubby production work, the results are worthwhile all in all.

Final Thoughts

Tyga, Rich the Kid, and G-Eazy have their fair share of moments on “Girls Have Fun.” It’s dumb AF, but it’s also infectious AF too.  The world isn’t changed by this shallow anthem, but, it’s tailor-made for the club.
