Tyga, Feel Me © InterscopeCali rapper Tyga continues to search for hits, but once more falls short of the glory with new single, “Feel Me.”

Cali rapper Tyga continues down an uninspired path with his latest single, “Feel Me.” Expectedly, “Feel Me” suffers from a lack of depth, amplifying the shallowness of the MC.  Examine his discography, particularly the singles, and substance is absent (“Trap P*ssy” marked an all-time low).  Even devoid of substance, it feels like it’s been ages since he dropped hits “Rack City” and “Faded.” While neither record was groundbreaking, and thrived off utter stupidity and irresponsibility, both easily trump the “Feel Me.”

“Feel Me” features respectable production work. Tyga is incredibly narcissistic, a hard pill to swallow considering his moderate success at best.  Rather than paving new pathways, he is content and reliant on clichés.  Clichés rarely have longevity, particularly when your status in the game is tenuous.  Why should anyone feel him considering his lackluster performance and lack of artistry?

Final Thoughts

Without question, Tyga misses the mark on “Feel Me.” There’s little to build excitement about. The title is blasé, the production merely okay, and the rhymes subpar.  It’s not quite a train wreck, but it certainly isn’t a hit either.
