In the 4^th edition of Rap BNGRZ (2023), we break down the banger status of “Mansion Musik,” performed by Trippie Redd.

Bring on the braggadocio, drip, sex, and kickassery, WOO! You’ve entered Rap BNGRZ territory! On Rap BNGRZ (bangers being the proper spelling), the premise is simple. Rap BNGRZ provides background info and commentary on cocky, confident, ferocious hip-hop/rap songs. The bangers can be brand-spanking-new or certified classics. In the 4^th edition of Rap BNGRZ (2023), we break down the banger status of “Mansion Musik” performed by Trippie Redd.

“Niggas wanna be my kin, pussy, you not my folks / Ridin’ ‘round town in a Benz, put that bitch on spokes.” Woo! Trippie Redd doesn’t waste anytime whatsoever on “Mansion Musik”, the opener from his 2023 LP, Mansion Musik. Following the intro, which confirms production by Nadddot, the rapper drops those bars – NO CAP! There is only one verse in the entire song, but Trippie doesn’t let that hold him back.  He raps and raps and – wait for it – RAPS SOME MO’! During the course of his rhymes, he is unapologetic, with no shortage of profanity, one-liners, and ample confidence (and cockiness).

In addition to work behind the boards by Nadddot, “Mansion Musik” features production by Igor Mamet, Bosley, and Bacon and Popcorn.  The malicious, minor-key backdrop, with its knocking beat and sus-sounding synths (in the most positive way possible) only fuels Trippie’s fire. One of the best lines is druggy AF: “Eighty-eight keys, no piano , gotta get it how you live, that’s my MO.” He also references the Willow Smith classic that launched her career: “Whip her head back and forth, not no Willow.” From there, we get references to Django Unchained, Rambo, Call of Duty, Pirates of the Caribbean – you get the picture!  Of course, it’s not all pop cultural references: “Put them poles on you niggas, turn you into dancers.” Woo! “Mansion Musik” is nothing short of a rap banger, PERIOD!!!
