Ah, bring on Midnight Heat 🕛 🔥! Wait – it is not usually hot at midnight! Well, it is steaming hot 🥵 at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo, and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. These risqué, unapologetic records often raise eyebrows and temperature alike. In the 40th edition of Midnight Heat (2025), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind “Pull Over” by Trina.
“Whoop! Whoop! / Pull over that ass it too fat / Whoop! Whoop! / Pull over that ass is too fat.” Whoop, whoop, indeed, Trick Daddy! Rapper Trina has always lived on the edge. “Pull Over”, the 18th track from her 2000 album, Da Baddest Bitch, is no exception. Sadly, “Pull Over” only dented the pop charts, peaking at number 93 on the Billboard Hot 100. Righteous Funk Boogie produced it. It samples lyrics from three songs: Sisqo (“Thong Song”), Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg (“Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang”), and Juvenile featuring Mannie Fresh and Lil Wayne (“Back That Azz Up (Back That Thang Up)”). It should come as no surprise that this rap banger is about dat ass.
From the get-go, “Pull Over” is turnt up! It thrives on an infectious groove. Also infectious is the naughty hook performed by Trick Daddy. The star of the show, however, is Trina. She is unapologetic to the nth degree. “Dumps in the truck / Thighs like what? / Ain’t nann ho got more booty in the butt,” she brags in the first verse. She adds, “Sisqo made that song when he seen me in a / THONG! TH-THONG! THONG! THONG!” Damn! Trina continues to tout the booty asserting “This ass even make Black Rob say whoa,” adding, “Juvenile couldn’t even back this azz up.” She continues her ass-driven shenanigans in the second verse, spitting, “Who’s got more ass than the average bitch? / You know it’s the baddest bitch.” She concludes the verse confidently: “Cause my shit firm and tight, just right / And if the price is right I just might.” Of course, there is a third verse of ass-loving fun where “I’mma shake what my mama gave me,” and “I’mma shake my money maker / I’mma shake this thing like a salt shaker.” “Pull Over” doesn’t require deep analysis. It is what it is, and that is, filled with junk in the trunk 🍑!
