Tory Lanez, I Told You © InterscopeUp-and-coming rapper/singer Tory Lanez continues to showcase his tremendous potential on latest single, “Cold Hard Love.”

Tory Lanez is a name that folks should get to know.  The 24-year old Canadian is the latest multi-talented artist to join the musical fold.  He raps, sings, and writes songs. Lanez’s buzz began with platinum-certified single “Say It,” which appears on his forthcoming album, I Told You, arriving August 19, 2016.  Now dropping his fourth single, “Cold Hard Love” is further confirmation of his artistic potential.

“Cold Hard Love” features an excellent beat. Mysterious, the lush production is #winning and sensual in quality. Sex is written all over it, with Lanez delivering filthy, sexy falsetto that is on-point. Describing his falsetto as flawless isn’t an overstatement, particularly as he sings,

“Put your records on, hot sex all up in the air / waking up my fingers all up in your hair.”

Add a superb bass line to the mix that hearkens back to classic soul, and the vibe is magnificent.

Unsurprisingly, the chorus is potent – as sexy as the rest:

“It don’t take a lot to keep it unpredictable / as long as you let me love your heart and touch your soul / and when you give it up to me, you give your all / cause all that I give in return is / cold, hard, hard love / cold, hard, hard love”

On the third and final verse, Lanez raps. Obviously, Lanez is edgier on his rhymes, showing his versatility.  Aside from being lengthy at six minutes, there’s little to criticize about “Cold Hard Love.”

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Cold Hard Love” proves to be sexy as albeit.  There are plenty of exceptional features including the production and a memorable chorus.  Lanez effortlessly switches from sweet falsetto-driven singing to edgier rapping on the third verse. Ultimately, “Cold Hard Love” builds anticipation for Lanez’s upcoming debut, I Told You.
