MOONZz & Restless Modern, Navigator © MOONZzMOONZz and Restless Modern shine on their romantic collaborative single electronic-pop crossover single, “Navigator.”

The union of MOONZz and Restless Modern has materialized, and it is indeed something special! Who are MOONZz and Restless Modern? Fair question. On her Facebook music page, under genre, MOONZz gives a frank response describing her style of music:

“#F*ckagenre but if we had to pick… – future pop – dance/electronic – indietronic – Productofmytastes.”

Sigh, what a response! Essentially, she’s eclectic, fusion numerous styles and influences, the way music should be. As for Restless Modern, he considers the product of his collaboration, “Navigator,” as “part of something much bigger,” according to a blog post from his website.  Both musicians seem to have more to unveil to the world, but their joint single “Navigator” is an awesome start.

“Navigator” initiates with warm, lush, musical sounds by Restless Modern.  The vibes are welcoming, inviting the listener to embrace the record. It’s easy to lose yourself in the radiance of the production, but MOONZz is there to navigate lyrically.  Vocally, she shows poise and restraint during the verses.  On the first verse, she sets the tone:

“Keep missing our exits / But we let ‘em pass by / I told you that I don’t mind / it’s alright / Just wanna be with you tonight.”

Here poise is a great look because it allows for her to expand the scope as the song progresses, particularly on the refrain.  The theme is all about falling in love. MOONZz is willing to let her lover lead her because she’s totally infatuated.  An excellent pre-chorus sets up an incredibly catchy chorus:

“Red light when I fell for you, baby / Drive slow cuz I love the view, we could / stop here if you want me to, it’s a / Long road, but if / You are my navigator.”

The production also picks up steam, reaching a fever pitch during the chorus. The drum programming and synths definitely fit the times. MOONZz never loses control, but definitely spreads her wings on the chorus:

“We could take the long way home / we could take the long way / Home / You are my navigator / Never have to bring me home… / Cuz home is everywhere we go.”

Final Thoughts

The remainder of “Navigator” follows a similar formula of excellence.  All in all, MOONZz and Restless Modern make a formidable musical team.  “Navigator” latches from an initial listen – it has the blueprint of a hit without question.  It’s well written, well produced, and well performed. #Winning.

“Navigator” is currently available for streaming and download from a variety of music services.  Check it out!
