James Vincent McMorrow, We Move © Mahogany Books / Burning RopeIrish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow outdoes himself on “Get Low,” one of the promo singles for forthcoming album, ‘We Move.’

33-year old Irish alternative singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow returns with his third studio album, We MoveWe Move is headed by single “Get Low.” Non-traditional, “Get Low” promotes We Move with a bang, truly building excitement for the album.

“Get Low” opens with a soulful, urban-pop oriented intro. Guitar truly triggers this sensibility. It incorporates a modern bag of tricks including vocal effects and hip-hop drum programming. 808s in a singer/songwriter song? Quite unique to say the least.

McMorrow delivers simply beautiful, expressive vocals.  His tone is stunning. His vocals are never inhibited by the production work; he’s always the forefront.  Additionally, the songwriting is memorable, and “Get Low” is anchored by a catchy hook.

Final Thoughts

Overall, “Get Low” is exceptional.  It features a beautiful vocal performance by McMorrow. The production work is exceptional, soundly combining alternative, singer/songwriter, and urban styles.  All in all, it’s well-written song with respectable lyrics and “ear” candy in regards to the palette of sounds.
