Ah, bring on Midnight Heat 🕛 🔥! Wait – it is not usually hot at midnight! Well, it is steaming hot 🥵 at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo, and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. We are talking about that after-dark type $hi†, ya dig? These risqué, unapologetic records often raise eyebrows and temperature alike. In the 88th edition of Midnight Heat (2024), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind, Thirsty” by Tinashe.

Tinashe (Tinashe Kachingwe) didn’t lie when she asserted she was “Nasty”, haha. “Thirsty” hails from the same album, Quantum Baby.  She continues singing in the titillating chorus, “I know that you want me in the worst way / Do it like it’s my birthday / I know my mouth too dirty / But I never lie, don’t worry.” Oh, snap! Kachingwe penned “Thirsty” alongside producer sdtroy (Troy Artopoeus). Sdtroy eats it up on the instrumental.  The backdrop is smooth, sensual, and sort of intentionally nebulous; it floats. The canvas is perfect for Tinashe to paint on with her ‘nastiness.’

Bitmoji ImageTinashe sings smoothly. Initially, she ‘coos’ when she sings.  While she’s commanding, she never gets too high. She does sing more overtly as this sex ballad progresses, but no gospel histrionics.  The melodies are rhythmic, sounding awesome against the chill accompaniment.  The second verse is where Kachingwe is her nastiest. Confident, she sings, “So thirsty, chase me when I leave / There’s no such thing as too much of a good thing.” That’s arguable, but I see her point.  She continues, “I just missed my flight, I guess I’m spending the night / ‘Bout to waste my time, heart’s not in it, but the dick all mine.” Damn! So, she doesn’t love him but intends to embrace hooking up with him.  To summarize, there’s hip action, grip, hitting it (rough, of course), and “Dreamin’ about me in your mouth.”  There’s no doubt you’ll find yourself thirsty listening to the sex of the bop that is “Thirsty”. Tinashe, you’ve “been a nasty girl!”
