Tinashe, Joyride © RCATinashe drops “Me So Bad,” the third teaser track from her highly-anticipated sophomore album, ‘Joyride.’ She’s assisted by ubiquitous artists Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana.

After releasing her debut album Aquarius in 2014, and mixtape Nightride in 2016, R&B singer Tinashe returns with her proper sophomore album, Joyride, April 13, 2018.  After releasing singles “No Drama” (featuring Offset) and “Faded Love” (featuring Future), she drops a third teaser track, “Me So Bad,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana.

“Don’t be faking, faking, no yeah

Say you looking for someone that’ll last

I know you looking for someone that’ll last.”

From the start, “Me So Bad” is comprised of a gimmicky, sexy, sunny, pop-oriented R&B sound. The islands are written all over “Me So Bad.”  Judging by the aforementioned pre-chorus lyrics, “Me So Bad” is chocked-full of mad sexual innuendo.  Honestly, there’s no other way to put it – Tinashe encourages sex on the bright, exuberant, and repetitive chorus.

“You want some me so bad

You want some me so bad

Come get this body

You want me so bad

You want me so bad

Come get this body now.”

Naturally, Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana play into Tinashe’s intentions.  Besides mentioning the Rolls-Royce Wraith, Ty drops the sexual cliché “I want it face down, ass up.” On the third verse, after dropping some Spanish, French Montana makes it clear, “she ain’t want no safe sex,” later adding “she a savage.”

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Me So Bad” is naughty and catchy.  Tinashe delivers some delicious ear candy.  BUT, at this point, haven’t we’ve heard this record a number of times in the past? The answer is a resounding yes.  Enjoyable and sex, but also ‘been there, done that.’
