Tinashé, Faded Love © RCAR&B/urban-pop artist Tinashé delivers a cool, calm, collected, and second performance on single, “Faded Love.” She’s assisted by ubiquitous, melodic rapper, Future.

The last project we heard from Tinashé arrived in 2016.  That was a mixtape, Nightride. Prior to that, the R&B/urban-pop artist has released one album, her debut, Aquarius (2014).  Aquarius was a fine introduction to the cool, calm, collected, and most of all, sexy-voiced chanteuse.  With the preface laid out, the sophomore album is imminent.  Following her first single of 2018, “No Drama,” Tinashé enlists Future for the assist on her second, “Faded Love.”

Tinashé kicks off “Faded Love” with that cool, calm, collected, and sexy sound we’ve become accustomed too.  She has a beautiful voice, even if she takes a subtler approach.  Essentially, this doesn’t sound far-fetched from what she served up on Aquarius.  That’s ultimately a pro, even if it doesn’t represent major evolution.  The theme is love, cliché and common, yet effective.  Following solid vocals, she delivers a simple, yet incredibly catchy chorus on the titular lyric. This is performed gimmicky, but ultimately, effectively.  As for Future, he provides his normal, autotuned, melodic contrast.  He certainly not game changing, but he fits the vibe. *Cues up 2 Chainz.*

Final Thoughts

All in all, “Faded Love” is enjoyable.  Tinashé sounds beautiful and sexy, providing us all with ear candy.  That said, she doesn’t transform the game or exhibit any innovative spirit.  It’s not a requirement that she does or doesn’t mind you, but those looking for something ‘brand new’ from “Faded Love” won’t get it.
