Tim McGraw and Faith Hill continue to release solid singles in advance of their collaborative album, ‘The Rest of Our Life.’ “Telluride” is no exception.
On November 17, the long-awaited collaborative album arrives. That collaborative album is The Rest of Our Life, featuring country royalty Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. That country royalty also happens to be a married couple, which makes things even more special. Prior to “Break First,” McGraw and Hill blessed listeners with two fine singles: “The Rest of Our Life,” notably co-written by Ed Sheeran, and early promo single “Speak to a Girl.” “Break First” continued the excellence, as does “Telluride.”
“Telluride” is filled with superb musicianship from start to finish. Expectedly, both Tim McGraw and Faith Hill sound awesome during their solo turns. On this particular song, Hill gets things off to a fast, alluring start. As great as both have been separately throughout their career, as well as separately on this particular track, they definitely sound like soulmates when they sing together. In addition to superb singing from the lead vocalists, McGraw and Hill get a lift from soulful background vocals. Speaking of soulfulness, there’s plenty to be had here, as this song combines the best of southern soul and traditional country.
Final Thoughts
All in all, “Telluride” is another fine song released in advance of The Rest of Our Life. There are no glaring cons, as Tim McGraw and Faith Hill continue to flex. Neither artist needs to prove anything at this point, but it’s a bonus when the material being issued is so consistent. The only rub about “Telluride” is the length – it approaches the five-minute mark. Still, with plenty of room for the great musicians accompanying McGraw and Hill to show off, sounds cruel even to mention the song length.
