The Kid LAROI, SO DONE | Track Review 🎵

Teen rap sensation The Kid LAROI relays the plight of love effectively and expressively on the brief, melodic single, “SO DONE.”

“I’m done, so done, I’m done with all the games you play,” 🎙 The Kid LAROI asserts on the chorus of 🎵 “SO DONE.” So, what exactly is young Charlton Howard ‘done’ with? Love, at least for the time being – he’s not ready for it right now! The result of his pain is another enjoyable, melodic single from the Australian teen rapper.

The Kid LAROI keeps things short on “SO DONE,” which runs merely two minutes and change.  It’s ample time for him to share his love pains. Given the melodic nature of this track, as well as Howard’s distinct, expressive sound, he perfectly captures the plight to be honest.  “Sometimes, I sit and I think about why / I even trusted you… / Want you to walk out and walk out of my life.” He never goes incredibly deep mind you, but whether you’re his age – an ‘angst-laden teen’, twice his age (shout-out millennials), or far older, the plight of love is relatable.

Final Thoughts

Is the wheel reinvented with this brief, Charlton Howard record? No, but it marks another enjoyable moment from the rising rapper.  The Kid LAROI has shown his potential time and time again, and likely, he’ll only get better with experience and time.  “SO DONE” doesn’t exactly ‘knock me off my feet’ #Stevie Wonder style, but it’s a definitely relatable and definitely a vibe.
