The Chewgs Surprise With New Release, ‘Let It Out’

T
he Chewgs are a folk duet from the United Kingdom and have just released their new track, ‘Let It Out’. The two-piece band have been crafting their sound in recent years, and their new record showcases their progress.Although the song ‘Let It Out‘ can be classified as indie-folk, it does not come with a particular template that is identical to anything else that we have heard in the past. The track has an unconventional feel, and the distinctive guitar strums and vocal hooks help to set it apart from other releases. It appears that the inspiration for the music came from the experience of feeling unable to express what is going through one’s head or being unable to communicate with others. There is a feeling that this tune is an escape for the duo, and they throw everything they have into their delivery; fortunately, it pays off handsomely!
The music is not overly complex, and the mix is somewhat light around the edges; the driving forces of the tune are a bass lead, an acoustic guitar arrangement, and a vocal. There is also an unrefined quality on show, and even while some additional studio polish may have given it a more lustrous sheen, it is frequently preferable to offer this kind of music in a manner that is authentic to the place from which it originated.
In general, it is an intriguing release from the British combo, and it will be interesting to see what other tracks they come up with as the year continues.
