Although brief, running under two minutes, this invitation is potent. Taylor, KAYTRANADA, and Carrington Brown produced it. Notably, it samples multiple elements from the 1997 song, “Beep Me 911” by Missy Elliott featuring 702 and Magoo.  The sound is chill, enigmatic, and sexy, matching the warm vocals of Taylor.  With those vocals, she serves up titillating lyrics.

Despite its brevity, “Open Invite” features a standard form.  There are two verses, each of which is followed by a brief pre-chorus and the chorus.  “Keep your thoughts aside,” Taylor urges in the first verse, and adds, “Put it on the floor tonight if you don’t mind.” Noted!
