Taylor Swift, "Love Story (Taylor's Version)" [📷: Taylor Swift]Taylor Swift successfully recaptures the magic of her early hit single, “Love Story” on the rerecorded “Love Story (Taylor’s Version).”

It seems that 🎙 Taylor Swift isn’t slowing down anytime soon.  After an epic 2020 releasing two exceptional albums – 💿 folklore and 💿 evermore – Swift is onto her next task.  What task is that? Releasing rerecorded versions of her studio albums so that she can “reclaim control of her old recordings”.  The first album that she’s rereleasing – 💿 Fearless as 💿 Fearless (Taylor’s Version) – should come as no surprise.  This was the breakthrough album that earned her her first 🏆 Grammy win for Album of the Year.  Also, it should come as no surprise that the first promo single she’s releasing from the new version is 🎵 “Love Story (Taylor’s Version).” Now the burning question is, how good is new version which arrives 13 years later? Read on and find out.

The minute you hear “Love Story (Taylor’s Version),” it’s definitely nostalgic, period.  This is the old Taylor Swift – a firmly planted country artist with some pop leanings.  She’s since moved on from her Nashville roots, but, hearing her reminisce definitely ‘feels right.’ Essentially, there’s the sentiment that she could release a new country album if she wanted to.  Focusing on “Love Story (Taylor’s Version),” perhaps the biggest question personally was how would a more mature Swift would sound on music recorded when she was late teen?  Well, the answer is, fantastic.  While we know that Swift is clearly in a different place than she was back in 2008, her voice sounds great and certainly more seasoned.  As far as the sound and production of the record, 🎛 Christopher Rowe and Swift do a nice job recreating as well.

Final Thoughts 💭

All in all, “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” is a success.  It doesn’t supplant the original, but, it definitely gets the job done for both Taylor and her fans.  At this point, it seems that Swift can do no wrong, and with this rerecorded version of one of her biggest hits, she absolutely does no wrong.  That’s honestly about the size of it.
