Tali ShearTali Shear Mesmerises With “Fool”

Contributed by George James

T

ali Shear knocks it out of the park here with “Fool”. It is a track which provides enormous relevance for anyone who has had a wobbly relationship and her lyricism bites like a thousand teeth.

Taking a chill direction, the singer has opted only for a piano and soft beat as well her vocal delivery in this piece. It gets underway with a gentle lead from the piano, and her vocal performance which follows is mesmerising. The singer is still relatively new on the scene, but yet she brings confidence which makes her stand out as an artist with heaps of experience.

Power

Signing with true grit and power, Tali takes us on a journey which is hard to forget. Her emotions are dripping all over the mix, and her approach grasps us in its palm from the get-go. I could hear influences within the vocal performance which mirror recent greats including Freya Ridings and Jessie Ware. She sings with open honesty, and there is nothing ambiguous about her excellent performance with everything on display.

The chorus is the highlight. Here Tali genuinely gets her message across, and she flaunts her substantial octave range in bright light. The track builds as it progresses, and we hear a touching beat towards the midsection, which adds a meaningful rhythm. For me, I relish the simplistic approach she is putting out here. There is nothing too complicated about it, but it adds to the track and proves the statement correct ‘Less is more’.

Overall, a top-class track from Tali Shear. She is not in the space of her own entirely, but yet there is still plenty of originality which is screaming out. You can take a listen to “Fool” by Tali Shear below.
