Sven Gamsky, better known as Still Woozy, drops a short but sweet bop with “Window,” which is cool and chill, filled with sexy vibes.
According to Sven Gamsky, better known as Still Woozy, he seeks to “combine electronic and acoustic elements for good.” He’s one of those ‘do it all’ musicians, which I have mad respect for. In 2019, he released a five song EP, entitled Lately, which included the song “Ipanema” where he collaborated with Omar Apollo and Elujay. Ultimately, how does one characterize Sven stylistically? Pop, something he does very nicely on the short but sweet “Window.”
“Window” provides listeners with some decadent ear candy; it exemplifies combining electronic and acoustic elements. The guitars are rhythmic and chocked-full of soul, the bass robust, with keyboards amplifying the colorful backdrop. Those keyboards include electric patches, organ, and of course, synths. Furthermore, “Window” gets a lift from a Marvin Gaye sample, “I Heard it Through the Grapevine.” “Window” already had an urban-pop vibe but adding the soul icon to the mix just further amplifies it.
Still Woozy does wonders instrumentally, as well as vocally. He delivers a cool, chill performance that definitely gives off vibes. He never breaks a sweat, yet the performance is alluring; quite compelling. Lyrically and thematically, he focuses on matters of the heart, endearing singing on the first verse, “I know you like my goofy ass; how could you hate that? / I see what’s underneath and I love you more.” Of course, the centerpiece of the record is the sensual chorus.
“Pull me closer please (longer) I don’t even need you to explain How much longer will you (Longer would you) Keep me on your chain.”
Final Thoughts
If you haven’t check out Still Woozy, this is the perfect opportunity. “Window” is a short but sweet retable bop. It explores matters of the heart – well, perhaps more accurately matters of the bedroom. This is a well-produced and well-performed record through and through. Definitely a way to maximize 2 minutes and 20 seconds of song ;).
