“One, two, three, fuck it / (Give up your love…).”
Oh! Pop singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez kicks off “Sweet Love” with a bang, rather a bomb – that f-bomb! The talented retro-pop artist remains true to himself on this brief but entertaining, mostly up-tempo pop cut.  There is a change of pace during the bridge, which keeps the “Sweet Love” sweet, as well as this throwback pop soul cut engaging.  Sanchez penned it with producer OZGO.

There is lots to heart about “Sweet Love.”  It begins with Stephen Sanchez, who delivers a strong vocal performance.  His falsetto is particularly brilliant. Furthermore, his vocals ooze with passion and soul.  His love for love is apparent in the first verse, where, after “Hiding behind my guitar and a song / Then I found ya, and, boy, I was so wrong.” Well, well, well! In the second verse, the boy is invested, asserting, “Oh, there ain’t no heaven like the way my heart said…” What did it say, Stephen? Well, per the centerpiece, the chorus, “Your sweet love, it’s got a hold on me now, yeah / And I ain’t ever gon’ let you go, no, no, no.” Love is the modus operandi on “Sweet Love” (duh) and Stephen Sanchez sells it well. All told, this is a well-performed and well-produced track.  Is it too lovely, as in, too much love? Maybe it’s a bit schmaltzy, but there is also something refreshing about the innocence… save for that f-bomb Sanchez sneaks in.
