Well, it is steaming hot 🥵 at midnight when it comes to this naughty, innuendo-laden, and sex-laden column featuring songs intended for nighttime. These risqué, unapologetic records often raise eyebrows and temperature alike. In the 87^th edition of Midnight Heat (2025), we explore the naughty, sexy vibes behind “Drip” by Stella Novella.

Oh, snap, Stella Novella (Charlie Fish)!  Better yet, OH, SHIT,  Stella! The Dominican American drag queen and musician amps up the innuendo on the short but sweet “Drip”. Novella penned “Drip” with producer Keenan Copas.  The result: a surefire, infectious dance-pop bop!

“Drip” is danceable from the get-go. The club, specifically, the gay club vibes go hard.  A keyboard-heavy cut, the sound is colorful and representative of dance to the nth degree.  Anchoring the musical accompaniment is a sickening, again, danceable groove.  Expectedly, with such musical inspiration, Stella Novella cooks.  The hook, “I got your body (drippin’ wet),” is repeated over and over.  Some other naughty little lines also suggest S meets E, and then they X. How about the not-so-innocent, “Can I taste your / (Drip) / (Drip) / (Drip).”  Stella is not talking about bling-bling! And, even if they were, lyrics like “On my knees, on the floor / I just wanna taste of your / (Drip) / (Drip)” debunk that.  Stella Novella is not praying, unless it’s for… fill in those ellipses for yourself!  There have been naughtier songs than “Drip”, but it excels with just the right amount of innuendo, naughtiness, and sex.
