~ Song Reviews 🎵 ~

Ah, welcome to the page that is dedicated solely to Single & Track reviews. Singles and tracks of various styles are evaluated in this section of The Musical Hype – We don’t discriminate. Track reviews are also available on the home page.

More often than not, the single reviews on the site tend to follow a format that includes an intro paragraph with background information, a body, comprised of 1-2 paragraphs of analysis, and a concluding paragraph that ‘puts a cap’ on things. Each track also receives a star rating, on a scale of 0 – 5 (½ stars are used as well), that is visible at the beginning and ending of the review.

5 out of 5 stars = MASTERPIECE

4.5 out of 5 stars = NEAR MASTERPIECE

4 out of 5 stars = EXCELLENT

3.5 out of 5 stars = VERY GOOD

3 out of 5 stars = AVERAGE / GOOD

2.5 out of 5 stars = BELOW AVERAGE

2 out of 5 stars = MEDIOCRE

1.5 out of 5 stars, 1 out of 5 stars, 0.5 out of 5 stars, 0 out of 5 stars = BAD

Track reviews generally run a minimum of 250 words with many running north of 300 words. So, music enthusiasts everywhere – Musical Hypeians worldwide – get your fix of single & track reviews down below!!!

Lil Baby is true to self, delivering an enjoyable single with “Sum 2 Prove” that doesn’t expand his craft or ascend to the next level.

Khalid returns with a pleasant urban contemporary single in “Eleven,” but offers nothing groundbreaking or brand-new.

Halsey, You should be sad | Track Review 🎵

On “You should be sad,” the country/folk-flavored, sixth advance single from MANIC, Halsey is filled with scorn – mad as hell.

Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys drops an empowering, inspirational, and uplifting first single of 2020 with “Underdog.”

Mac Miller, Good News | Track Review 🎵

“Good News,” the promo single from the posthumous Mac Miller album, Circles, is well-produced, well-written, and hauntingly performed.

Yung Scuff & Jakkyboí, U DO U | Track Review 🎵

Yung Scuff & Jakkyboí continue to propel the emo-/punk-tinged hip-hop movement with their short, but sweet banger, “U DO U.”
