“Last night I got lucky / I think I figured it out.” That’s positive, Sophie Hawley-Weld. She adds, “It feels so good to throw some ass.” Woo! And hence, you have a Sofi Tukker ass-shaking anthem, “Throw Some Ass”.  Sophie dominates most of “Throw Some Ass” but Tucker Halpern also gets into the mix.  In his low vocals, he chants towards the end, “Throw some ass, throw it down / Joga a bunda, hit the ground.” Sofi Tukker penned this carefree dance cut with Emily Warren, Laryssa Goulart Loureiro, Scott Harris, and producers Richard Beynon, Peter Thomas, Marcio Arantes, and Nick Sarazen.

“It feels so good to throw some ass

Turn it round, can you make it clap

Give the old man a heart attack

Free your mind when you throw it back

It feels so good to.”

Are the lyrics cringe? Yes, yes, yes.  Beyond the chorus, the Portuguese lyrics deserve a shout-out in the first bridge… second verse… however you want to label the section.  It is an interesting change of pace in this silly song.  So, what does one make of “Throw Some Ass”.  It’s danceable, with solid production work.  It’s also silly and should be taken with a grain of salt.  It’s on-brand for Hawley-Weld and Halpern, who, back in 2018, had us being profane in “Fuck They”.
