Smokepurpp & Murda Beatz, Do Not Disturb © Alamo / InterscopeRising rapper Smokepurpp, paired once more with producer Murda Beatz returns with brief, new single, “Do Not Disturb.” They are joined by Lil Yachty and Offset.

Smokepurpp has no problems keeping things short.  The sweetpart of that familiar saying is suspect at times.  After releasing a number of singles, the SoundCloud sensation continues to be prolific, even if the content of his rhymes is cliché. Paired once more with producer Murda Beatz, he drops the two-minute-and-a-half joint, “Do Not Disturb.” Some friends join the occasion: Lil Yachty and Offset.

After blessing the trap, Smokepurpp drops the first verse. The clichés continue as he brags about the sex with his “lil bih” as well as his wrist.  He follows up with an utterly dumb hook.

“Don’t hit my phone (huh?)

That shit on do not disturb (yeah)

AK made a footwork jerk (Lil Purpp)

Tu-tu-tu, headshot dur…”

As aforementioned, utterly dumb.  Lil Yachty follows with the second verse, which is equally shallow.  He “sips on purple with Purpp,” brags about material things such as rides and watches and enjoys sex. Cliché AF.  Offset follows another profound hook, for the millionth time recycling rhymes about the Patek.  To his credit, he also mentions a Rollie in the same line: “For the Patek, I Rollie the watch.”

Final Thoughts

The only person who wasn’t mentioned for his contributions is Murda Beatz.  Arguably, his trap production work is the best thing about “Do Not Disturb.” The song itself is more of the same from Smokepurpp, not to mention guest artists Lil Yachty and Offset.  At this point, the rhymes are repetitive and tired. Even bangers could use some innovative spirt every now and then.
