Skye & Chris Brown, Fairytale [Photo Credits: Skytunes / EMPIRE]Skye and Chris Brown unite their powerful voices together for a lush, sleek, and sexy urban contemporary duet in “Fairytale.”

Chris Brown has been in the duet business a lot lately.  Not long ago, he joined AGNEZ MO for “Overdose”. Now, he joins Skye for “Fairytale.” As we know, fairytales usually have a happy ending.  Is that the case after listening to this song? For the most part, yes, it is.

“Fairytale” commences with a beautiful instrumental introduction.  The sound is definitely warm and inviting.  Skye gets a big shout out from none other than the shout out king, DJ Khaled.  The inspiration must’ve worked wonders, as her and Chris Brown deliver lush vocals early on, amplified by great vocal production. The vocal harmonies are among the selling points. Notably, “Fairytale” ends up being a truly a balanced duet, with neither singer being more dominant than the other.

Some other specific moments worth highlighting includes the chorus – catchy and effective.

“Feel like the only one / Is this a dream or a fairytale? / Am I the only one, only one / I don’t wanna be the one you dream about / Only once in a while…”

Another moment that’s golden is the second verse, where the play between the two singers is semi-Biblical, and a whole lot of awesome.

“Adam ate the apple / Eve gave it to him / Still chasing the apple / I know what you’re doing…”

Final Thoughts

All in all, Skye and Chris Brown are on to something with “Fairytale.” This is an enjoyable modern, urban contemporary record with hip-hop infused production that sounds sleek, silky smooth, and totally expensive.  It’s not earth-shattering – sometimes it’s a bit busy actually – but definitely worth saving on that playlist.
