Shawn Mendes Takes 'Wonder' to No. 1: Scanning the Charts No. 26 [πŸ“·: Brent Faulkner, Island, The Musical Hype, Pixabay]Scanning the Charts – Billboard 200 & Hot 100 (12/19/20): Shawn Mendes earns his fourth no. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

SCANNING THE CHARTS is just what it says it is.  I, the quirky founder and do-it-all at The Musical Hype scans through the Billboard Charts and picks out things that catch my eye.  To reiterate what I said last week (Bad Bunny Earns First No. 1), this column won’t be extensive, but rather short and sweet, keeping that πŸ’© moving.  This week, I picked out FIVE notable observations πŸ”Ž from the Billboard 200 πŸ“‰,  and THREE observations πŸ”Ž from the Billboard Hot 100 πŸ“‰, with πŸŽ™ Shawn Mendes earning his fourth no. 1 album with πŸ’Ώ Wonder.

Shawn Mendes, Wonder [πŸ“·: Island]πŸ’ πŸŽ™ Shawn Mendes earns his fourth no. 1 album with πŸ’Ώ Wonder. While Wonder didn’t have much competition this week – the no. 2 album was a distant second –  the numbers weren’t exactly earth shattering, at 89,000 units.

πŸ’ After earning a historic no. 1 album last week, πŸŽ™ Bad Bunny sees πŸ’Ώ El Ultimo Tour del Mundo slip just one spot to no. 2.

πŸ’ Aside from Mendes’ Wonder, the top 40 lacks brand-new album.  The only other debut arrives courtesy of πŸŽ™ The White Stripes with πŸ’Ώ The White Stripes Greatest Hits at no. 33.

πŸ’ Beyond the top 40, the debuts are scant as well.  Rapper πŸŽ™ YFN Lucci lands at no. 49 with πŸ’Ώ Wish Me Well 3πŸŽ™ TWICE bows at no. 72 with πŸ’Ώ Eyes Wide Open: The 2nd Full Album. YUNGBLUD launches at a tepid no. 75 with πŸ’Ώ Weird!

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ Mariah Carey charts another Christmas album with πŸ’Ώ Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, which debuts at no. 100.

Billboard Hot 100 πŸ“‰

Mariah Carey, Merry Christmas [πŸ“· : Sony Legacy]πŸ’ After ascending from no. 14 to no. 2 last week, πŸŽ™ Mariah Carey returns to no. 1 with her iconic Christmas gem, 🎡 β€œAll I Want for Christmas is You.”  Also, worth noting, the new version of β€œOh Santa!” (featuring πŸŽ™ Ariana Grande and πŸŽ™ Jennifer Hudson) launches at no. 76.

πŸ’ With much of the Hot 100 dominated by holiday singles, πŸŽ™ Lil Baby secures two spots in the top half of the chart with 🎡 β€œOn Me” (no. 30) and 🎡 β€œErrbody” (no. 41).

πŸ’ πŸŽ™ The Kid LAROI debuts at no. 63 with β€œWithout You,” which appears as the seventh track on the expanded version of πŸ’Ώ F*CK LOVE.
