Sexyy Red, Shake Yo Dreads [📷: Open Shift Distribution / gamma.]Rapper Sexyy Red stays true to self on the fun, turnt up, if ridiculous rap banger, “Shake Yo Dreads.”

In her raunchy song, 🎵 “Pound Town”, rapper 🎙 Sexyy Red made it clear that “You know them dread heads do it the best.” On her single 🎵 “Shake Yo Dreads”, she encourages everybody to do just that.  It goes a little something like, “SHAKE YO DREADS, SHAKE YO DREADS, SHAKE YO DREADS (SHAKE ‘EM).” Ooh-wee! She does vary things in the second half of the chorus, where she spits, “BUST YO HEAD, BUST YO HEAD, BUST YO HEAD.” Clearly, depth is not the modus operandi.  “Shake Yo Dreads” is all about a$$ and head shaking, a malicious-sounding trap beat (🎛 Kat Lightning and AyoCBass produce), and Sexyy Red being true to her unapologetic and outlandish self.

Sexyy Red, Shake Yo Dreads [📷: Open Shift Distribution / gamma.]Does Sexyy Red ever say anything of legitimate substance? Nah. In the first verse, she makes it clear, “I don’t fuck with suckers, all my bitches be some hitters / I like fuckin’ with drillers, d-dread-head killers.” There it is! She does drop a bomb when she asserts, “Lo-look better than yo bitch, I can tell her coochie stink.” Wow… The second verse isn’t any more intellectual so to speak.  Sexyy Red often repeats herself, asserting, “You ain’t gang,” “You a stain,” “Fuck this fame,” “Fuck the opps,” and “Gimme top.” I mean, it wouldn’t be a great rap banger without an oral sex reference, right?  Make of 🎵 “Shake Yo Dreads” what you will. Sexyy Red is one-of-a-kind.  Give her credit for being true to self and incredibly entertaining.  The substance is lacking, but her energy is not. I only wish I had dreads to shake, sigh 😔.
