Sexyy Red, Hoochie Coochie [📷: Rebel / gamma.]Brash and unapologetic, St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red continues to ride a ratchet, sexed-up wave on her wild, unhinged single, “Hoochie Coochie.”

“Fuck them lame bitches (Baow), ratchet bitches better (You know that) / Real hoes, we don’t get cold, I’m fly in any weather (Bitch).” I am rarely speechless, but when a new Sexyy Red song drops, my mouth is agape – down to the floor.  “Hoochie Coochie” is yet another instance I find myself shaking my head, surprised yet NOT surprised by what she’s rapping about.  Backed by a hard-hitting, malicious, minor-key musical backdrop (Mac Fly), Sexyy Red drops aggressive rhymes chocked-full of naughty trash talk. There is nothing transcendent about “Hoochie Coochie” – it is what it is.  Sex is the modus operandi with the rapper asserting, “I’m throw this ass, he-he gon’ blow my back… / I’m like, ‘Damn, bae, hol’ up, you pullin’ on my tracks.’” Word.  Of course, the title track is repeated a ‘million times.’  At least Sexyy Red is expressive in her repetition of “Hoochie coochie / Hoochie coochie / Hoochie coochie…” Like many of her songs, “Hoochie Coochie” is unhinged AF.  Would we have it any other way? No, but, how much more ratchet can she get?
