Prepare to beam with P-R-I-D-E! Beaming with Pride celebrates, embraces, and spotlights songs by LGBTQ musicians or allies.  Here, we provide background and insight into musicians, analyze, plus go gaga over the decadent bops served up.  When songs dictate deeper and more transcendent discussion, we ensure the point is fully articulated.  All styles of music are welcome, whether the songs are classics or brand-new. So, without further ado, in the 14th edition of Beaming with Pride (2026), we highlight “Lubed” performed by Seth Bogart.

“And don’t you, don’t you want to / Don’t you wanna get lubed.”
Well, if it means what I think it means is going to happen, who’s going to say no? Especially if he’s a fine specimen 😍! “Won’t you come into my room? / I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse.” Oh, hell yeah! Better yet, fuck yeah! Openly gay musician and visual artist Seth Bogart, assisted by Jeremiah Nadya, dropped a lube-tastic synth-pop/electronic/rock song with “Lubed”. “Lubed” is the fifth track from Bogart’s self-titled, 2016 album.

Set in a major key, this lo-fi cut sounds bright, in a muted sort of way.  The warm synths, rhythmic drum programming, and synth bass create a sweet backdrop for Seth Bogart.  Bogart brings the heat, albeit calm, cool, and collected, with his sweet, boyish vocals.  Interestingly, there’s a sense of innocence. The lyrics are not that innocent, even if they’re breezy, summery, and non-explicit.

“Now that we’re here, what you wanna do

If you need another hint

Then I could give you two

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do

No matter what, I’m gonna get to you.”

Contributing to the easy-going nature of “Lubed” are the tuneful melodies.  The crème de la crème is the chorus, excerpted earlier, with its simple but unforgettable lyrics. As “Lubed” progresses, it grows more overt yet maintains a hypnotic nature.  Towards the end of the record, I love the vocals effects that arrive via the “Love to lube ya, baby.” Beyond the song, a vibe in its own right, the music video that accompanies “Lubed” is a sight to behold, too.  Part of the sight is titillating… I mean, rubbing a fit, hot, nude body with lube… It makes you feel certain things.  Seth Bogard shines on this decade-old LGBTQ+ song that still sounds F-R-E-S-H.
