Real life dating couple Rudy Mancuso and Maia Mitchell exhibit stellar musical chemistry on pop duet, “Magic.” It is indeed, ‘magical.’

Rudy Mancuso and Maia Mitchell – can you say power couple? The two entertainers join forces for a magical single, “Magic.” “Magic” features simple production work, led by rhythmic acoustic guitar accompaniment.  Mancuso starts things off with clear, easygoing vocals on the first verse.  He has a beautiful, appealing tone.  Lyrically, the first verse of “Magic” is also simple, yet thoughtful.  Mancuso’s exquisite tone carries over into the sweet chorus.

Near the end of the chorus, percussion is added to the production.

“Oh, I feel this magic
And it’s deep inside
‘Cause I believe in magic
When I see your eyes
You know that it’s magic
‘Cause I believe in magic.”

Maia Mitchell arrives on the second verse.  Like her boo, she has a clear, easygoing voice as well.  The two show their strength together on the second iteration of the chorus. The bridge is gimmicky, playing on the lyric, “I feel it in my body.”  While there’s more modern-pop during this particular portion, it’s not overdone, much like the record as a whole.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Rudy Mancuso and Maia Mitchell excel on “Magic.” This is a well-done performance through and through.  The biggest rub is really slight nitpick – perhaps “Magic” may be a bit too light and somewhat safe.  Again, nitpicking.
