Romy, Always Forever [📷: Young]“It’s okay to be sad / There’s a lot going on, I know,” Romy (Romy Madley Croft) sings in the first verse of “Always Forever”. The Grammy-nominated musician continues, “Did you figure it out? / It’s alright if you don’t know.” We don’t have all the answers, but guess what? We can depend and lean on others – a support system! At least, that seems to be what the talented singer/songwriter is getting at on her single. “And, oh, baby, don’t overthink / You can take it out on me.” Aww! “Always Forever” was written by Romy, Fred again.., Count Counsellor, and Donna Lewis. She produced it alongside Fred again.. and Joy Anonymous.  Question: How did Donna Lewis get into the mix? “Always Forever” samples her song, “I Love You Always Forever”.

“Always Forever” is sweet from the get-go. The instrumental commences colorfully and warmly.  The ears are blessed with lovely, detuned synths. Also, an awesome groove is established at the onset.  Initially, the groove is on the reserved side but ‘ups the ante’ during the chorus.  From there, the beat continues in its busy, driving glory. Speaking of the chorus, it is the section to beat.  It’s repetitive but dedicated and potent to the nth degree.

“I love you (Always forever)

Near and far (Closer together)

Everywhere (I will be with you)

Everything (I will do for you).”

pride heart burstCan you feel the love? Ooh-wee! Besides the dedicated, romantic, and supportive lyrics, Romy ‘puts in work’ with her cool yet commanding vocals.  She doesn’t break a sweat yet every lyric and note she sings feels crucial! Besides her compelling lead, the layered vocals are sweet blending in sublimely with the ornate, electronic production.  Another selling point? “Always Forever” benefits from its tuneful melodies. Regardless of sexual preference, everybody can get behind Romy’s dedication in “Always Forever”. It’s lit 🔥!
