“Uh, he’s a rolling stone, he’s a rolling stone / Long as the wind blows, I’ll be long gone… / Drive with many miles of roads and still can’t find my / My home.” Woo! 🎙 Rod Wave keeps things real on 🎵 “Stone Rolling”, the third single from his fourth studio album, 💿 A Beautiful Mind. Producing this latest melodic but hard-hitting banger is 🎛 TnTXD, 🎛 SephGotTheWaves, and 🎛 Geovocals.  The biggest selling point of the backdrop is the knocking trap beat.

In “Stone Rolling,” Wave is honest and transparent about his dreams as a child, as well as his come up.  Part of those dreams was the desire to travel, with Rod rapping, “Like if I make it out this shit, I’m goin’ straight to Cali.” That of course is a dream so many of us have at some point.  He goes on to highlight achieving his aspirations, but at the same time, it’s not the ‘end all, be all’ – he’s still in search of home.  Two lyrics that stand out in the verse are, “I just woke up on my tour bus, I don’t know where I’m headed / I been out on my own since I turned eighteen,” as well as, “Is there a heaven for a G? Where can I go to get some peace? / I wanna settle with my kids, buy a crib by the beach.”

Final Thoughts 💭

fire sunglassesRod Wave does a fabulous job of being authentic and personal on his songs. After wowing with 🎵 “Cold December”, 🎵 “Stone Rolling” marks another highlight.  It’s great that he’s living his dreams and is in a much better place, but, you still hopes he does find a permanent home beyond stone rolling.
