Bring on the bold, fierce songs! Bangerz N Bopz serves up background info and insight into songs of various styles, especially songs that raise eyebrows and/or stir the pot. Featured records can be classic or brand new. In the 11th edition of Bangerz N Bopz (2026), we break down “Nuts” performed by RM.

“Now, lay back / You’ve never been so high / Know you’re afraid of heights / Don’t say goodbye.”
Although BTS took a hiatus spanning 2022 through 2026, many of its members not only completed their mandatory military service but also released solo projects.  Grammy-nominated South Korean rapper RM released a pair of albums during this time, including Right Place, Wrong Person.  Notably, “Nuts” appears on the LP as the second track.  There are lots of cooks in the kitchen to make this unique record go. Who, you ask? Well, RM, Bj wnjn, Mokyo (모키오), Qim Isle, Nancy Boy, 이태훈 (Lee Tae Hoon), San Yawn, and JNKYRD produced “Nuts.” Listening to it, you can hear the fruits of the team’s labor (more on that later).  Of course, RM cooks.

However, portions of the first verse, and most of the second verse are in Korean.  “She a pro ridah, hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, rider / Must be an A1 guider, always throw a fuckin’ slider.” Ooh-wee! He adds in first verse, “When it comes to love, she could be an all-nighter.” Later, he takes on the perspective of a man, who, like the woman, is “Best gaslighter, no woman could stop him.” Ooh, the toxicity is toxic-ing… or something like that!  In the second verse, mostly rapped in Korean, he references the toughness of their relationship.  “There’s a stigma on my chest,” he raps, and continues, “It’s called you, it’s hard to believe that we were ever together / It was a flu, and we could see the karma coming through.” Ooh-wee! The chorus is exclusively in English.  “I could make this right place for you,” he asserts.  Beyond the intriguing theme and rhymes, the musical backdrop is ear-catching and keeps the same energy as the lyrics.  The groove is sick, featuring plenty of hi-hat (initially), percussion, and ample rhythm.  The bass line stands out.  It’s active and robust.  As “Nuts” progresses, the sound changes, including a pop/rock vibe, intact with ripe guitar, during the bridge.  Then, “Nuts” grows even nuttier during the second verse, with more of a minimalist rap instrumental.  Best experienced by listening rather than describing, RM crafts something special with “Nuts”, which is entertaining from start to finish.
