Rico Nasty, PEPPER | Song Review

Although it is brief, rapper Rico Nasty ensures that her single, “PEPPER,” is fierce, piping hot, and engaging as f—. 

Woo! Rico Nasty is turnt up early on her brief but hella potent single, “PEPPER”.  That should be obvious given her play on words with an expensive, badass Porsche SUV, and those hot cayenne peppers.  Rico Nasty wrote this sub-two-minute, peppery rap banger with producer Kenny Beats (Kenneth Blume).

Fittingly, “PEPPER” is set in a minor key. Blume gives Rico Nasty a fiery, malicious electronic hip-hop backdrop. Rico takes it and runs with it, delivering an assertive and aggressive performance.  The cadence and flow are nothing short of compelling.  With plenty of memorable lyrics, among the highlights are “I been on for a minute, these niggas be trippin’, I’m practicin’ safe sex,” “New Rick’s, these Rico’s can’t break bread with no freak ho / He eatin’ my ass and you kissed ‘em,” and “Cowgirl shit, put that ho’ on reverse / He lovin’ the way that I ride.”  Oh, snap! The chorus is the section to beat, inundated wit dat pepper, yo!

Holy moly! To reiterate, “PEPPER” is brief, but yo girl Rico Nasty brings dat heat, NO CAP!
