Brazilian electronic musician Rick Glam delivers a short but sweet, bold, and must-hear project with his 2025 EP, VAMPIRE.

Over the course of four tracks, Brazilian electronic musician Rick Glam (Paulo Silva, b. 1998) takes us on quite a trip.  That trip is out, loud, and proud. That trip is his 2025 EP, VAMPIRE, which is bold, thought-provoking, and unapologetically queer.  Say gay, say gay, say gay, and we wouldn’t have it any other way on The Musical Hype! Rather than go about an album review the traditional route, I released four separate articles about the EP’s four songs, “VAMPIRE”, “GLORY HOLE”, “CZECH HUNTER”, and “DARK ROOM”. This review of VAMPIRE (EP), hence, features my commentary regarding the theme, lyrics, Rick’s performances, and the musical composition and production. Overall, VAMPIRE (EP) is an intriguing, must-hear project.

The Verdict

“VAMPIRE”

“Only a vampire can suck you like I do.”
Oh, snap, Rick Glam! “VAMPIRE” is fittingly the name of the song, which is the opener of VAMPIRE (EP). Yes, the blood should be noted, but Glam has oral sex in mind. He produced this vampirical, gay sex record with Brenozy. “VAMPIRE” commences with a J.S. Bach interpolation (Toccata and Fugue), a piece of music associated with horror. This is fitting given its vampirical nature and the fact that the EP was released in October 2025. Beyond Bach, “VAMPIRE” features sleek production work.  The electronic palette is on point thanks to the rhythmic synths and a sickening beat.  The sound is big, but the straw that stirs the drink is Rick Glam. His vocals are playful, naughty, and sensual.  Dirty-minded and sex positive to the nth degree, he doesn’t shy away from lust.  “Creature of the night, dirty mind, no limitations,” he sings in the first verse, and adds, “I’m walking till sunrise, maybe I’ll give in to temptation / Blood is rushing through my body, I don’t need salvation.” Notably, he alludes to how members of the LGBTQ+ community are viewed as more erotic, promiscuous, and sexual, etc. In the second verse, he references Transylvania: “Transylvania life, I’m Dracula, you’re my wife.” The infectious chorus takes the cake with its repetitive, sucking lyrics (excerpted earlier).  There are also plenty of repetitive lyrics elsewhere, including the bridge and the extended outro. “VAMPIRE” is erotic, gay, and nothing short of intriguing.

“GLORY HOLE”

“Now I can see you through the glory hole / Glory hole, gulp.”
If you happen to do a Google search for gloryhole, certain results are pornographic. This hole, intended for pleasure, is part of the gay experience, for some. Rick Glam sings about this experience via the NSFW “GLORY HOLE”. Brenozy produced this hole-loving sex cut.  The lust is real for Rick. “I’m so hungry, baby, tell me why?” he asks in the first verse, and continues, “The way you make me scream, I feel alive.”  Sexual contact, clearly, with orgasm.  In the pre-chorus, a sense of anonymity may have disappeared from this glorious experience, considering, “In this club, I found you / Looking at me / I was looking at you, yeah.” In the second verse, there is emphasis on licking, no biting, and… “The way I choke on you, it’s on my mind …” Last but not least, the chorus is the crème de la crème:

“No wasting time, just observe, that’s how I roll

Your body is so divine, you can shove it down my throat

I’m high in the dark, you gave me so much hope

Now I can see you through the glory hole

Glory hole, glory hole.”

Beyond the filthy, free, and sexually liberating lyrics (sex positivity is all the rage), the electronic-driven backdrop kicks ass and takes names. The synths and groove, coupled with the playful vocals of Rick, craft a sound palette that perfectly captures an intimate experience at this gay club.  “GLORY HOLE” is something else!

“CZECH HUNTER”

“Hey, have you ever heard the expression ‘gay for pay’?”
There has been plenty of discourse regarding gay for pay. Just the intro of “CZECH HUNTER” is a catalyst for discussion.  So is the song title, named after the controversial gay for pay TV series. Glam once again produces with Brenozy. He paints a picture of those cute, but straight Czech boys playing gay. “Straight guys, all of them / Telling lies, yeah, just out of shame.” Glam continues singing in the first verse, “There are no losers, we both win / Money cash, skin to skin / If you let me touch you /… You will have some wet dreams.” Wow. Similarly, in the second verse, it’s the sex that stands out. That sexual encounter is filmed, of course, though Rick ensures the straight man feels comfortable: “Look at me, my camera’s on / Don’t be shy, we’re all alone /… You can taste it, so grab the chance / Hand to hand (Two hands), it’s just bromance.” Rick Glam, CZECH HUNTER [📷: Rick Glam]So, a bromance is what it’s called these days? In the pre-chorus, the emphasis is on the fact that “it’s just sex.” There is pleasure involved, but it’s meaningless and transactional, right? It depends. In the brilliant, repetitive chorus, Rick Glam embodies the “Czech Hunter”… or, is it merely a check hunter? A bold, risqué, and cutting-edge song, “CZECH HUNTER”, is thought-provoking. Over a sleek, electronic backdrop, Glam slays with his playful, seductive vocals.

“DARK ROOM”

“Come and meet me in the dark room, dark room.”
Rick Glam has sex on his mind with “DARK ROOM”, the fourth and final cut from VAMPIRE. Anytime a room is dark, beware, particularly when it comes to the LGBTQ+ scene. Glam adds in the chorus, “The whole party stops when you move, when you move / Let your body bloom under the moon.” Blooming under the moon, huh, Rick? Yep, it’s going down! “DARK ROOM” thrives from the beginning thanks to its unsettling, dark, enigmatic instrumental. Nocturnal to the nth degree, the instrumental sounds seedy and suspect. Complementing the sound are the equally enigmatic and playful vocals by Glam.  His vocals are breathy, talked, and feel drenched in… naughtiness. “Sexy silhouette triple shots, I’m so high,” he sings in the first verse, and adds, “I’m moving like a flame, serving body all night.” Ooh-wee, not only is he confident, with the body body-ing, he wants to have some fun! “I’ll show you some things, turn you on, get you right.” That sounds devilish! Things do feel right, however, given the fact “There’s something special for you tonight,” and there’s the perfect opportunity to “Free your body in the dark room, dark room.” Clothes off, boys! Rick Glam keeps things both ear-catching and sex-positive on “DARK ROOM”, a surefire vibe for the spooky month of October and beyond.

The Verdict

Four songs deep, all four songs from VAMPIRE (EP) are worthwhile.  Each brings something special to the table, with all of those songs being – wait for it – G-G-GAY! Rick Glam shows his fierceness as an electronic musician. He tackles queer sexuality in a beastly and captivating fashion. With no skips, VAMPIRE (EP) is a must-hear musical trip!

Song Picks: No skips, all bops!
