Grammy-nominated rapper/singer Post Malone goes harder and totally entertains on banging single, “Motley Crew.”
“Count up the bands, stickin’ out / No rubber band is big enough / Chain is so heavy, can’t pick it up / Came with the gang, a myriad.” Woo!!! Austin Post, better known as 🏆 Grammy-nominated rapper/singer 🎙 Post Malone is back with a B-A-N-G-E-R. Set in a minor key, 🎵 “Motley Crew” has banging production courtesy of 🎛 d.a. got that dope and 🎛 Louis Bell. The backdrop (beat, synths, looped instrumental melody) seems to push Post to go harder, while still maintaining melodic sensibilities. Interestingly, “Motley Crew” sounds different from some of the records he’s recorded in the past.
Post Malone has no shortage of confidence and swagger. Basically, he’s living it up and throwing down – ballin’ like a MF – on “Motley Crew.” This is all drip and partying. There is nothing deep or transcendent here, but Post is usually good for a flex joint. Some examples of this hard-hitting flex include lines like, “I get the commas, period / Covered in ice, Siberia / I’m at the top of the pyramid / Bitch, I’m a star, I’m Sirius.” Hell yeah! Also, worth noting, he’s chilling with his gang, and that gang is something else – truly, a motley crew!
Final Thoughts 💭
Will you leave “Motley Crew” enlightened by Post Malone? Of course not. There’s nothing educational about this record. Furthermore, there’s nothing game changing or radically innovative. “Motley Crew” is simply an entertaining, fun banger that shows Post dropping some bars while still showcasing his melodic abilities. All in all, this is a successful single.
