PinkPantheress, Capable of love | Song Review 🎵

Ascending pop artist PinkPantheress delivers another fabulous single in advance of her debut album, Heaven Knows, with “Capable of love.”  

“You are somebody that I want to keep / But you said it’s not deep and to that answer, I weep.” Ah, matters of the heart have ascending pop artist 🎙 PinkPantheress feeling some type of way on her single, 🎵 “Capable of love”. “Capable of love” marks the second single (and third track) arriving in advance of her debut album, 💿 Heaven knows (arrives November 10, 2023). In the first verse of the single, the plans between her and her lover fall through, something that, naturally, upsets her.  Even so, in the second verse, as infatuated as she is, she asserts, “But there’s no place I’d want to be / Than sat her replyin’ to someone on a screen.” Wow!

The chorus, of course, is the crème de la crème:

“And I think I need a picture ‘cause it’s never enough

To see you smilin’ in my mind when I lay still in the dark

It starts with you

Starts with you

I’m obsessed with the idea that one day it breaks up

‘Cause after that, I know I’ll never be as capable of love

After you

After you.”

Man, oh man, those lyrics hit different! As always, PinkPantheress sings well, maintaining cool vibes, yet also sounding authentic, expressive, and highly effective.  Melodically,  the record is tuneful, which is always a selling point! She produced this ‘full-length’ record – approaching four minutes 🤯 – alongside 🎛 RISC.  Like many of her other songs, 🎵 “Capable of love” features a colorful, ear-catching backdrop, with a hyper-rhythmic beat, guitar, keys, and synths. All in all, PinkPantheress continues to allure with her unique brand of pop, distinguishing herself from her contemporaries.
