Peezy & BabyTron, Psilocybin | Track Review

Rappers Peezy and BabyTron bring a surefire high on their brief but potent collaborative banger, “Psilocybin.”

“Floatin’ off the psilocybin, bouncin’ ‘round like Super Mario / Got to war wit’ the militia, you gon’ have to get yo army cloned.” Ooh wee, BabyTron! Psilocybin, for some clarity, are magic mushrooms that when consumed deliver hallucinogenic effects . The Michigan rapper collaborates with rapper   Peezy on the single, fittingly titled, “Psilocybin”. Running just over two minutes, both rappers bring the heat . Part of the fuel for their fire is the minor-key production work, which features a sickening bass line. “Psilocybin” appears on Peezy’s album, GHETTO, arriving October 10, 2023.

BabyTron serves up quick rhymes, dropping plenty of entertaining bars such as “Goin’ through the motions, up and down, just catch me rollercoastin’ / Would’ve thought I drove over a skunk, ‘cause what I’m rollin’ potent.” Da-yum, what a high !  Peezy follows up with the second verse (there is no hook, by the way), compelling with his own electrifying bars. He starts off lit , asserting, “Pop an Addy, bitch, I’m finna take you on a rollercoaster.”  Oh, snap ! One of his best lines, however, arrives at the end: “I’m the man around this bitch, no, they ain’t come to see you, Otis / Bro been locked up for so long, I had to look him up on OTIS / Motherfucker.” WOO! Will “Psilocybin” (the song) change your life? Nah, but it gives these two rappers a banger worthy of spins.
