Welcome to Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹, a column highlighting songs that encourage, inspire, and uplift the spirit; songs exuding fortitude, positivity, and resolve, even in the face of adversity.  Featured songs arenโ€™t genre-specific; songs may or may not be faith-based. The goal is for these songs to make you feel better โ€“ be LIFTED to new heights!  So, for the fourth edition of Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹ (2025), we highlight โ€œAmenโ€ as performed by Pastor Mike Jr..

Pastor Mike Jr., Amen [๐Ÿ“ท: Rock City Media Group]โ€œWe gonโ€™ go way, way, way up (Itโ€™s up) / Iโ€™m so, so full of His love (Full of His love) / I just canโ€™t get, get enough (Yeah).โ€  Gospel musician and minister Pastor Mike Jr. (Michael McClure Jr.) isnโ€™t talking about manโ€™s love, but rather, the love of God in his uplifting 2025 song, โ€œAmenโ€ ๐Ÿ™. McClure Jr., Adia Andrews, David โ€œDloโ€ Outing (David Lamar Outing II), and Terrell Anthony Pettus penned โ€œAmen.โ€ Outing, Mr. Wilson On The Beat, and ZAVIER produced it.  โ€œAmenโ€ doesnโ€™t sound like you parentsโ€™ brand of gospel music.  It fuses contemporary urban sounds (rap, hip-hop, and R&B) with gospel cues (keys, organ, choral vocals). But what is unchanged is the positive, spiritual messaging.

Music Lifts ๐ŸŽถ ๐Ÿ‹ (2025) [๐Ÿ“ท: Brent Faulkner / The Musical Hype; Dave H, Jean-Daniel Francoeur, Vansh Mehta from Pexels]Pastor Mike Jr. is optimistic throughout โ€œAmen.โ€ Even in arduous situations, he highlights Godโ€™s work.  โ€œHe put you in the dark to see your light work / He died just for you, thatโ€™s what your life worth,โ€ he asserts in the first verse, adding, โ€œSo go ahead and let your light work, yeah, uh / Just let it shine.โ€ He prudently sings at the end of the second verse, โ€œI know He may not come when you want Him /โ€ฆ But Iโ€™ve lived long enough to know that Heโ€™s on time.โ€ The lyrics recall the beloved gospel gem, โ€œOn Time Godโ€ by Dottie Peoples.  While all of โ€œAmenโ€ is chocked-full of encouragement and inspiration, the chorus is the centerpiece, where the amens, the confirmation, are abundant.

โ€œSo, let the church say

Amen

If you agree with everything He said

โ€ฆ This gonโ€™ be my year (Amen)

Iโ€™m blessed (Amen), no stress (Amen)

Everybody around me blessed (Amen)

Say Amen

Amen.โ€

Pastor Mike Jr. delivers a bop โ€“ a meaningful, contemporary gospel bop, that is! โ€œAmenโ€ sound fresh, modern, and most importantly, uplifting!
