scar Merry is a rock driving force and his triumphant new track ‘Cower‘ is a jewel. Taken from his EP, ‘Unfurl‘, this unique gem sticks out like a beacon for all the right reasons.

‘Cower‘ is a heavyweight with plenty of influences. It carries a rock foundation from the get-go. But, plenty of distinctive sounds make the mix which will leave us pining for another play. It kicks off with the guitar hook fastening itself deep with its nail-biting texture. Also, the drum hit soon arrives with a powerful position, and it glues the track together remarkably well.

The track is tight, and it is a solo effort with Oscar creating everything by himself. He proves his talent here not only musically with each instrument delving into complex spaces, but he also demonstrates his vocal ability with an exalted performance. Oscar sings with genuine integrity, and he does not mince his words with him articulating well instantly. Also, I enjoy how he adds a new essence to this genre with a gritty style which is challenging to shake off, well after listening.

The ending on ‘Cower’ is up there with the most substantial finales in recent times. It is powerful, and all the guns blaze through the speakers. They inspire with their movement, and it is impossible to fault Oscar’s energy with him pushing himself to the front of the scene with memorably hooks and superb arrangements.

Overall, I savour this new one from Oscar. He is delving into a new domain with his post-genre style. However, he is still early in his career. Therefore he will need even more hits like this one to ensure he goes down in history.
