The Single Notez 🎶:

The 23-second instrumental intro does a fine job establishing the vibe – setting the tone

“Could Have Said” features sleek production work (Burr); it sounds characteristic of the 2020s by all means with the banging beat (trap drums) and warm synths

Lovely vocal performance by OpenSoul; he sings quite expressively and nuanced without dare over singing

Nice use of harmonized vocals, sprinkled in with the lead

Thematically, he explores a familiar topic that never gets old – matters of the heart, aka love

Catchy, relatable songwriting, particularly the chorus

Short but sweet; 2:40 is sufficient length for him to inform us of his love woes

➖ No glaring cons to be found.  Perhaps there’s nothing ‘brand-new’ brought to the table ultimately, but there’s nothing wrong with that either.

 Memorable lyric:

“You could’ve said love was too much
You could’ve said I’m not enough
You could’ve said Let’s go our separate ways
Cause this wasn’t made for us...”

🔏 In Closing: R&B artist OpenSoul delivers a short but beautiful joint about a familiar topic that never ceases in relevancy – matters of the heart.
