The Single Notez ๐ŸŽถ:

โž• The 23-second instrumental intro does a fine job establishing the vibe โ€“ setting the tone

โž• โ€œCould Have Saidโ€ features sleek production work (Burr); it sounds characteristic of the 2020s by all means with the banging beat (trap drums) and warm synths

โž• Lovely vocal performance by OpenSoul; he sings quite expressively and nuanced without dare over singing

โž• Nice use of harmonized vocals, sprinkled in with the lead

โž• Thematically, he explores a familiar topic that never gets old โ€“ matters of the heart, aka love

โž• Catchy, relatable songwriting, particularly the chorus

โž• Short but sweet; 2:40 is sufficient length for him to inform us of his love woes

โž– No glaring cons to be found.  Perhaps thereโ€™s nothing โ€˜brand-newโ€™ brought to the table ultimately, but thereโ€™s nothing wrong with that either.

 Memorable lyric:

โ€œYou couldโ€™ve said love was too much
You couldโ€™ve said Iโ€™m not enough
You couldโ€™ve said Letโ€™s go our separate ways
Cause this wasnโ€™t made for us...โ€

๐Ÿ” In Closing: R&B artist OpenSoul delivers a short but beautiful joint about a familiar topic that never ceases in relevancy โ€“ matters of the heart.
