'P
ut In The Work’ by Nwando Babes is one of those tracks which would bring the crowd to the dancefloor if blasted out of a nightclub speaker. It boasts a feel-good aura while also delving deep into a relationship, with Nwando explaining how something is missing with her lover. The track kicks off with a disco synth groove with a vocal sample that echoes around the mix. Nwando then reaches to the front, and she pours raw emotion into her narrative. However, her expression is open to speculation about whether she wants her other half to fall at her feet or be there when she needs them most.
Either way, Nwando Babes runs the show, and her confidence is almost tangible as she progresses through her performance. Also, she brings a fresh cadence to the game with a movement that is thrilling. The music is equally as powerful, with many sounds springing out of the mix. Additionally, it takes a hint from various sources, including a lead synth hook which sounds somewhat similar to what you may expect on a Kiesza record.
The chorus is the breadwinner, but this is no surprise and expected for a pop track like this one. It is catchy, and the melody gets itself lodged deep inside the mind. So much so, it is difficult to shake it off once it comes to the closing passage.
Overall, ‘Put In The Work‘ is as fresh as they come, strengthening Nwando’s name in the female pop arena.
