Question: “Don’t you wanna know?” That is the burning question that 🎙 Noah Schnacky and 🎙 Jimmie Allen ask on their collaborative single, 🎵 “Don’t You Wanna Know”.  Both guys are country singers, but this particular single also appeals to the pop fanbase.  Basically, if you’re a fan of contemporary country that dips its toes into other genres including pop, R&B, and hip-hop, then “Don’t You Wanna Know” should tickle your fancy.  The sleek production by 🎛 Dylan Guthro definitely earns “Don’t You Wanna Know” some of its pop kudos.

Schnacky and Allen both have a great theme to work with: love.  Noah, who ‘takes first blood,’ imparts the tale of a girl who “Traded a party in the hills for the backroads / But she don’t know a thing about the southern thing.” Woo – culture shock! Anyways, his point is he’ll get better L-O-V-E from a country boy compared to a city boy.  Had to see that coming, right? Jimmie, of course, confirms the southern/country hospitality on his short verse, telling this nameless gal, “Let’s get some mud on the truck and get stuck ‘til the sun comes up.” Again, culture shock, but if this girl is ‘bout it, then awesome, I suppose.  The big moment comes on the chorus, primarily sung by Schnacky, but featuring Allen in select moments too.  There’s also a post-chorus following the second iteration of the chorus, as well as a bridge, all centered around locking down her love and affection.

Final Thoughts 💭

So, how does “Don’t You Wanna Know” stack up? Ultimately, Noah Schnacky and Jimmie Allen deliver a short, sweet country-pop bop.  Does the duo serve up anything life or game changing? Not particularly, but I definitely dig the sound and overall vibe.  This is the kind of record with plenty of crossover appeal.  Could it have been better/more developed? Of course, but again, lots to heart all in all.
