Prepare to beam with P-R-I-D-E! Beaming with Pride celebrates, embraces, and spotlights songs by LGBTQ musicians or allies.  Here, we provide background and insight into musicians, analyze, plus go gaga over the decadent bops served up.  When songs dictate deeper and more transcendent discussion, we ensure the point is fully articulated.  All styles of music are welcome, whether the songs are classics or brand-new. So, without further ado, in the 93rd edition of Beaming with Pride (2025), we highlight “Architecture” performed by Nieri.

“Such an amateur / Putting your design sheets on the floor / To make me insecure / Up on your high horse.”
Hmm, quite intriguing, Nieri (Nicolo Nieri). The handsome and talented dance-pop artist adds some real estate to the mix, and sings about him, “building it up” and “Tearing it down to the ground.” Early on, it is easy to fall in love with the architectural references in Architecture”.  The songwriting is clever to the nth degree. We know when Nieri penned “Architecture” with Joakim Buddee, Ivan Kinell, and Ingrid Witt, he was not focused on the literal design of buildings and such! This is about love, baby! Nieri serves up a surefire bop that is sure to build up your queer playlist. Buddee produced and mixed it.

Nieri, Architecture [📷: Nieri]The design of “Architecture,” when it comes to the arrangement, production, and sound, is marvelous. It is set in a minor key, which amplifies the dark, enigmatic vibes.  C minor will do that for you! The groove is sickening from the beginning, while the keys and synths are mean and nasty with some stank on them!  The star of the show is Nieri, who wows with his clear, youthful tenor. He brings attitude and personality to his chest voice, while his falsetto is ripe and sweet to the ears.  The melodies are tuneful throughout, while the lyrics are fierce. “Bogus engineer / Pushing buttons like I’m a machine,” he asserts in the second verse, and adds, “But boy, I’m flexible / Out of your comfort zone / Outta your box, your locks, I’m breaking free.” Oh, snap, Nieri! The crème de la crème, the crowning achievement, is none other than the chorus, which is incredibly memorable and drops a colorful f-bomb, too!

“Your fucked up architecture

You messed up, you really messed up

And now you miss us

And our construction

Building it, building it, building it up

Tearing it, tearing it, tearing it, tearing it down.”

Woo! Capping off the awesomeness of “Architecture” is the accompanying hot, sensual, and steamy music video. Ah, this gay dance-pop joint kicks ass and takes names!
